More than a month that the King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej has passed away, the crowd continues to gather around the royal palace to pay their respects to their beloved monarch.

To support the people, many independent foundations have provided on-site meals packed in foamed polystyrene trays, which generated enormous quantities of plastic waste.

To solve this issue, more than one million bio-degradable paper/BioPBS trays were offered through the Volunteers for Dad Center, to distribute among the users around Sanam Luang.

These hot food containers are made of paper with laminated film made of BioPBS, an innovative bio-sourced and compostable material which resists up to 100°C. It is used to replace polyethylene due to its bio-degradability that will degrade along with paper within a few months at room temperature.

This donation is an initiative of PTT Group for which PTTMCC contributed by supplying BioPBS resin.
